From University Project to Global Standard
SteVe (Steckdosenverwaltung - German for "socket administration") started at RWTH Aachen University in 2013. What began as a research project has grown into the go-to open-source OCPP server used by operators worldwide.
After over 10 years of maintaining SteVe, we created Powerfill to offer enterprise features while continuing our commitment to the open-source community. SteVe will always remain free and open.
With Powerfill's financial backing, SteVe receives ongoing development, security updates, and new features. The two platforms grow together - open-source fundamentals in SteVe, enterprise capabilities in Powerfill.
